Eden’s Perfume is a clump-forming herbaceous peony with dark green, divided leaves and fully double, very pale pink, fragrant flowers. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/198602/paeonia-edens-perfume/details) places bloom from late spring into early summer; the [American Peony Society registry](https://americanpeonysociety.org/cultivars/peony-registry/edens-perfume/) records its origin as unknown and treats a reported Dutch attribution as uncertain.
### Placement
Choose full sun or partial shade and a sheltered position. The RHS recommends deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist but drains well. This long-lived perennial suits a border where its spring flowers and divided foliage can be appreciated; avoid moving it once established. The RHS lists a mature size range of about 0.5–1 m tall and wide, so allow room for a clump to develop rather than crowding it between shrubs.
### Flowering
The fully double flowers are noted for fragrance and a very pale pink color. A spring-to-early-summer position lets the blossoms stand out among later perennials. The registry notes uncertainty around the cultivar’s origin, so no breeder is assigned here.
## Maintenance
Remove fading flowers after bloom, then cut the foliage down as it dies back in autumn. Peonies resent disturbance; divide only when propagation or renewal is needed.
