About Peony 'Green Halo'

Paeonia 'Green Halo' is a clump-forming herbaceous peony with divided, slightly glossy green leaves. Its semi-double flowers open in late spring and early summer, with light green outer petals edged in white and a white center surrounding yellow stamens. ## In the Garden This unusual flower coloring makes Green Halo a distinctive focal point among other spring perennials. The RHS lists mature height and spread in the 0.5–1 m range, so leave room for the clump to develop rather than crowding it among neighboring plants. ## Growing Conditions Choose full sun or partial shade and a fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Chalk, clay, loam, and sand are listed as suitable soil types in the [RHS plant profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/257119/paeonia-lactiflora-green-halo/details). ## Maintenance Keep the soil from becoming waterlogged and water during prolonged dry periods while the plant establishes. Peonies resent disturbance once settled, so select a permanent position and allow the foliage to complete its growth before autumn cleanup.
