About Peony 'Kelway's Glorious'

Kelway’s Glorious is a long-established herbaceous peony with large, double, bomb-shaped white flowers that may carry occasional red flecks. The fragrant blooms and sturdy stems make it useful in a sunny border and for cutting. ## Garden Use This deciduous clump grows to about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. Give it room to mature, and allow its foliage to remain after flowering so the roots can store energy for the following year. Kelways lists the selection as a summer bloomer and traces it to 1909. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun or partial shade in soil that stays moist while draining well. The cultivar tolerates a range of soil reactions and textures, including clay, loam, sand, chalk, acidic, neutral, and alkaline conditions. Newly planted peonies can take time to establish before flowering well. ## Maintenance Water during dry spells while the plant establishes. Remove spent stems and foliage after it dies back, and avoid moving the crown once settled.
