About Peony 'Brother Chuck'

Paeonia lactiflora 'Brother Chuck' is a fragrant, double-flowered peony with strong stems and broad, soft-colored petals. The American Peony Society records light soft pink flowers, greenish carpels, and a mid-season bloom; a second exact-selection profile describes warmer salmon, cream, and champagne tones as the flowers develop. ## In the Garden The substantial flowers, about 6½ inches across, rise on sturdy 26–28 inch stems. Use the plant as a border focal point or cut stems as the buds begin to open. See the [American Peony Society registry](https://americanpeonysociety.org/cultivars/peony-registry/brother-chuck/) and [My Peony Society's Brother Chuck profile](https://www.mypeonysociety.com/peonies/brother-chuck/) for cultivar-specific bloom and stem details. ## Growing Conditions Choose a sunny position with rich soil and room for a mature peony clump. The [RHS peony guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/peony/herbaceous/growing-guide) advises planting at the correct depth, avoiding competition, and providing plenty of light. ## Maintenance Support may help keep large blooms upright in exposed sites. Remove dead stems in autumn and mulch in spring, following the RHS guidance for herbaceous peonies.
