About Peony 'Leslie Peck'

Paeonia lactiflora 'Leslie Peck' is an early-flowering lactiflora peony with deep pink flowers and contrasting peach-etched petaloids. The [American Peony Society registry]() lists Niva and Snelson as originators, dates the cultivar to 1999, and records a height of about 36 inches. ## Flowers and habit The registry describes a Japanese-type flower with deep pink outer petals and pink center petaloids edged in peach. It notes many side buds, reliable flowering, vigorous growth, and foliage that holds the flowers above it. Parentage and seedling information are recorded as unknown by the registry. ## Growing conditions Choose a sunny or lightly shaded site with fertile soil that drains well. Peonies should not be planted too deeply and benefit from a position where water does not collect around the crown. The [RHS growing guide]() describes site preparation and planting for herbaceous peonies. ## Maintenance Water while establishing and during prolonged dry periods, while keeping the soil well drained. After the foliage has died back in autumn, cut herbaceous stems to ground level. Leave the plant undisturbed once established unless division is needed, following the [RHS guide]().
