‘Pink Parfait’ is a late-season herbaceous peony with large, full double flowers in vibrant pink. The robust plant reaches about 33 inches tall and combines a substantial spring display with softly fragrant blooms.
## Flowers and habit
The American Peony Society registry lists Carl G. Klehm as originator and classifies this cultivar as a lactiflora peony introduced in 1975. Its record describes large, pink, double flowers with silver-edged petals, mild fragrance, a tall habit, and disease resistance. The flower has no stamens or pollen. The cultivar’s recorded parentage is Mons. Jules Elie × a seedling. [American Peony Society registry](https://americanpeonysociety.org/cultivars/peony-registry/pink-parfait/)
## Garden setting
Use it where its late peony bloom can extend a spring border. Peonies generally perform best in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Illinois Extension advises planting the roots shallowly, no deeper than two inches, and avoiding excess fertilizer. [Illinois Extension peony guide](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/peony/)
## Maintenance
Water during dry spells while the plant establishes, then maintain even moisture without waterlogging. Remove faded blooms if desired and cut the herbaceous stems back after the foliage dies in autumn.
