About Peony 'Scarlet Heaven'

‘Scarlet Heaven’ is an intersectional peony introduced by Anderson. The American Peony Society registry describes its single scarlet-red flowers and records a mature height of 26–28 inches ([registry profile](https://americanpeonysociety.org/cultivars/peony-registry/scarlet-heaven/)). ## Flowers and form The registry places it among Anderson’s herbaceous–tree peony hybrids and describes a rounded plant with divided foliage. The individual blooms have a simple, open form that shows the golden center. It can anchor a mixed perennial border or serve as a specimen where its spring display is easy to see. ## Siting Give peonies a stable position with good drainage and room for a mature clump. General planting guidance is available in the [RHS herbaceous peony guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/peony/herbaceous/growing-guide); local climate and soil influence growth and flowering. The cultivar registry does not provide a USDA hardiness range. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist during establishment and extended dry weather, while avoiding waterlogged soil. Remove spent stems and tidy foliage after it dies back. Leave healthy leaves through the growing season so the plant can store energy for the next year.
