About Pardon My Pink™ Bee Balm

Pardon My Pink is a petite Monarda didyma with true-pink flowers and aromatic foliage. This compact perennial adds a low band of summer color at the front of a sunny or lightly shaded border. ## Flowers and placement Proven Winners lists a mature height and spread of 10–12 inches. Its flowers and foliage are fragrant, and the blooms attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The tight habit also suits containers and small garden spaces where a taller bee balm would obscure nearby plants. ## Growing Plant in part sun to full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. The breeder lists average water needs and USDA zones 4–8, while its general Monarda notes also recommend rich, moist soil. Water consistently during establishment and in prolonged dry weather. ## Maintenance Leave room for air circulation, particularly in humid gardens, and inspect foliage for powdery mildew. Although the breeder describes the selection as mildew resistant, conditions and disease pressure vary. Remove spent flower stems to tidy the plant, and divide the clump if it becomes crowded.
