Calliope® Large Scarlet Fire Imp. Geranium

Calliope® Large Scarlet Fire is a red-flowered interspecific geranium in Syngenta’s Calliope Large series. The product page lists a mounding, medium-vigorous plant 16–20 inches tall and 20–24 inches wide, flowering from mid-spring into summer. The breeder recommends the series for large pots and high-impact hanging baskets. [Syngenta product details](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70074607) ## Placement Choose a roomy container or landscape position where the scarlet flowers can anchor a warm-season display. Syngenta lists part sun to full sun and identifies this product as pollinator friendly. Allow for the mature spread rather than crowding it against neighboring plants. ## Maintenance Use fertile, well-drained soil and provide full sun or part sun. Water a container when the soil surface begins to dry; garden beds usually need a deep soak during dry spells. Avoid frequent overhead watering where possible, and remove spent flower clusters to keep the plant neat. [Iowa State University Extension’s geranium care guidance](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/faq/how-do-i-care-garden-geraniums) recommends well-drained soil and regular deadheading.
