Maverick™ Red Pelargonium

Maverick™ Red is an upright zonal pelargonium selected for red flowers. Syngenta lists the cultivar as a full-sun, pollinator-friendly annual in the Maverick series, with a mature height of 14–16 inches and width of 12–14 inches. [Syngenta Flowers]( https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70007883 ) ## Placement Use it in sunny garden beds or containers, where its upright growth can add a strong vertical accent among lower annuals. Syngenta describes the Maverick series as vigorous and free-flowering; its product listing includes flowering from mid-spring through summer. ## Maintenance Plant in well-drained soil and water moderately as it establishes. In containers, let the mix dry somewhat between waterings and avoid standing water. [North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox]( https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/pelargonium-x-hybridum/ ) describes zonal pelargoniums as tender perennials commonly grown as annuals and recommends full sun and well-drained soil.
