Maverick™ Violet Pelargonium

Maverick™ Violet is an upright, full-sun zonal geranium in Syngenta Flowers’ Maverick series. The breeder lists it at 14–16 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide, with flowering from mid-spring through summer. Its compact, vigorous form suits sunny beds and containers. ## Placement Choose a sunny position with moist, fertile, well-drained soil. The breeder describes the Maverick series as vigorous and free flowering, with plants suited to larger pots as well as garden displays. ([Syngenta Flowers](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70035174)) ## Care Plant outdoors after frost danger has passed. Iowa State University Extension notes that annual geraniums flower less with reduced sunlight and perform well in containers. Water beds during dry periods; check pots more often in hot, dry weather, and allow excess water to drain. ([Iowa State University Extension](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/growing-annual-geraniums)) ## Maintenance Remove faded flower stalks to encourage continued display. Keep the growing medium moist without leaving roots in standing water.
