Etouffee - Dwarf Fountain Grass

Etouffee™ is a dwarf fountain grass selection of Pennisetum alopecuroides, formally identified in its patent as ‘Tift PA17’ (USPP31062). Its arching mound produces light-pink foxtail plumes; the exact grower listing reports spring-to-fall flowering, a 42-inch mature height, and USDA zones 5–9. The patent identifies the cultivar and describes its reduced seed production. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. The grower lists this selection for zones 5–9 and reports an infertile, low-seed habit; use it in a border or container where the pink plumes are visible. ## Maintenance Cut the clump back before new spring growth and remove spent flower stems as needed.
