Regal Princess™ - Napier Grass

Regal Princess™ is a purple-foliaged ornamental Napier grass selection with red seedheads and bold warm-season texture. Emerald Coast Growers lists it at 48 inches tall for USDA zones 7–11 in full sun, describing its color as an improvement on ‘Princess’. [Emerald Coast Growers](https://ecgrowers.com/pennisetum-regal-princess-38/) ## Siting Use this large grass where its upright foliage can anchor a sunny border or provide a strong backdrop. The source lists a mature height of 4 feet; allow space for a substantial clump and do not assume a compact habit. Its red seedheads contrast with the purple foliage as the plant develops through the warm season. The listed USDA range is 7–11; in colder locations, treat winter survival as site-dependent rather than guaranteed. ## Maintenance Water regularly while establishing and during prolonged dry periods, especially in containers. Cut back old foliage before warm-season growth resumes, and divide established clumps if they become crowded.
