Terra Nova lists USDA hardiness zones 6–9, full sun, average water, and average, well-drained soil. Its profile notes deer resistance and pollinator appeal, and lists mixed beds, borders, containers, and cut flowers among its uses. ## Placement Choose a sunny position with soil that drains freely. This selection suits a border or patio container where its long flowering season can be enjoyed; leave room for its roughly two-foot spread. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and extended dry spells, allowing excess water to drain. Terra Nova lists required dormancy and recommends moderately drying greenhouse media between irrigations; the RHS advises deadheading after flowering and cutting stems back in late winter or early spring.
