Butterfly™ Orchid Pentas

Butterfly™ Orchid is an upright Pentas lanceolata selection in the Butterfly™ Series. It produces large clusters of star-shaped flowers and blooms from late spring through late summer in full sun. The official listing retains the selection code PAS1141432. [PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/048000222003839/pentas-butterfly-orchid/) ## Plant profile PanAmerican Seed lists the series at 12–22 inches tall and 10–18 inches wide, with an upright habit. The product profile notes that the large umbels attract butterflies and hummingbirds; Ball Seed's plant details also list bee activity and heat tolerance. The named Orchid selection remains distinct from Red, Deep Rose, Light Lavender, and Mixture forms. ## Garden use Use it for warm-season color in a sunny bed or seasonal container planting. Its upright stems and rounded flower clusters add height and help bring pollinator activity into the garden. ## Maintenance Water new plants as they establish and during prolonged dry spells. Remove faded flower clusters when a tidier appearance is desired. PanAmerican Seed is a Ball-owned breeder and seed producer.
