About Glitterati™ Red Star Pentas

Glitterati™ Red Star is a mounded, upright Pentas with red-and-white star-patterned flowers. The breeder lists late spring, summer, and autumn flowering, a mature height of about 12–22 inches, and a width of 10–18 inches in sun. Its bright patterned blooms bring a strong focal accent to warm-season combinations and patio containers. ## Garden Use Use this compact selection in a sunny container, mixed planting, or warm-season border. PanAmerican Seed describes the Glitterati star pattern as distinctive and notes that the selection pairs well with other varieties. The exact red-and-white coloring and product code are shown on the [Glitterati Red Star product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/048007273004562/pentas-glitterati-red-star/); this color pattern belongs to this selection and should not be generalized to every Pentas. ## Growing Conditions Pentas grows best in full sun and organically rich, well-drained soil. Water consistently while establishing and allow the soil to dry between waterings. It is treated as an annual in cooler climates and can grow as a perennial in warm regions. See the [North Carolina Extension species profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/pentas-lanceolata/) for broad care guidance; it is not a USDA hardiness source for this named product. ## Maintenance Monitor container soil during hot weather and water when it begins to dry. Avoid standing water around the roots, and protect the plant from frost where cold weather occurs.
