About Cayennetta™ Pepper

Cayennetta™ is a compact F1 cayenne-type pepper bred to produce a heavy crop of bright red, tapered fruit. The peppers have moderate heat, and the plant’s tidy branching form can suit a smaller garden or a container. ## Site and Growth Give this warm-season pepper a sunny position after frost danger has passed. Syngenta describes the plant as ultra-compact and lists an approximate mature size of 10 inches tall by 22 inches wide. Its fruit resists sun scorch and the selection tolerates hot and cold seasons; those traits do not remove the need to protect young plants from frost. ## Fruit and Use The downward-facing peppers are about 3–4 inches long and reach roughly 20,000 Scoville units. Harvest them bright red for fresh sauces or salsa, or preserve them by canning, drying, or freezing. The compact branching plant is a prolific producer. ## Maintenance Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and water deeply enough to maintain even moisture during flowering and fruit development. Container plants dry sooner than in-ground plants, so check them regularly.
