Blanket® Zinfandel is Green Fuse Botanicals’ named Zinfandel variety in its Blanket® petunia series (PBLZI06-0). The official catalog lists Zinfandel separately from Double Zinfandel, so this record describes the single Zinfandel selection. Green Fuse describes Blanket as a spreading summer petunia for beds and large containers, typically 6–8 inches tall with a 36-inch spread. See [Green Fuse’s Blanket page](https://green-fuse.com/new/petunia-blanket/) and [2021–22 catalog](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/GreenFuse-Catalog-2021-22_xs.pdf).
Use the spreading plant where it can fill a sunny bed or large container. Petunias grow best in full sun and porous, well-drained soil; avoid planting in spots that stay waterlogged. [Green Fuse’s current Blanket culture sheet](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Petunia-Blanket%C2%AE.pdf) advises watering thoroughly and allowing the medium to dry between irrigations.
## Maintenance
Water regularly during hot, dry weather, but let excess water drain freely. Deadheading is optional, although it can improve appearance and flowering; trim a leggy plant back to renew growth. Root rot and Botrytis are more likely in wet conditions or with overwatering. [University of Missouri Extension](https://extension.missouri.edu/news/new-petunias-pack-a-punch-of-color)
