About Evening Scentsation Blue - Petunia

Evening Scentsation Blue is a spreading petunia with indigo-blue flowers and a noticeable evening fragrance. Takii describes the flowers as hyacinth-like with rose and honey notes; All-America Selections reports that the scent is strongest in the evening and that flowering continues from late spring through summer to frost. ## In the garden This multiflora petunia grows about 5–8 inches tall and spreads 30–35 inches wide, making it suitable for hanging baskets, containers, or a mass planting where its trailing stems have room. Set it in full sun; its blue flowers and scent make it especially appealing near a patio or seating area. ## Growing Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Illinois Extension notes that petunias flower poorly in very heavy soils. Water regularly enough to keep the root zone from drying out, while ensuring excess water drains freely. ## Maintenance This is grown as an annual. Takii’s [Evening Scentsation plant page](https://takii.eu/products/petu-hybr-evening-scentsation-f1/) gives the exact variety profile, and [All-America Selections](https://all-americaselections.org/product/petunia-evening-scentsation/) provides its dimensions, bloom season, fragrance, and container uses.
