About TriTunia™ Purple Petunia

TriTunia Purple is Syngenta’s named purple color selection of large-flowered annual petunia. Syngenta lists the variety at 10–12 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide, with a mounding habit and flowering from mid-spring through summer. The series is bred for strong garden vigor and uniform flowering, including early flowering under short, dark days. It suits packs and pots. [Syngenta’s Purple page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70000762). ## Growing Grow in full sun to part shade and moist, well-drained soil. For established petunias, UF/IFAS recommends deeper watering rather than frequent light watering; adjust for rainfall and how quickly containers dry. [UF/IFAS petunia guidance](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/petunias/) and [Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia). ## Maintenance Deadhead spent flowers on large-flowered petunias. An occasional late-season pinch can help keep plants compact and flowering well, as described by [UF/IFAS](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/petunias/) and [Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia).
