About Dekko™ Lavender Eye Petunia

Dekko™ Lavender Eye is a spreading annual petunia with lavender-toned flowers, part of Syngenta’s Dekko series. The official plant page lists 8–12 inches tall by 18–22 inches wide, full sun, and flowering from early spring through summer. Its spreading growth is useful along container edges, in hanging baskets, or at the front of a sunny planting. [Syngenta Flowers](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70008029) ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Illinois Extension describes garden petunias as half-hardy annuals and cautions that very heavy soils can reduce flowering. Keep container mix from drying out completely, since pots and baskets lose moisture faster than garden beds; water at the root zone and let excess drain. Leave space for the 18–22-inch spread rather than crowding it between upright plants. [Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia) ## Maintenance Check moisture often during warm weather and water when the upper mix begins to dry. Pinch or trim lightly if growth stretches or becomes untidy late in the season; Illinois Extension notes that occasional late-season pinching can help keep petunias compact and blooming well. Remove damaged stems as they appear.
