Dekko™ Purple Petunia

Dekko™ Purple is a distinct spreading annual petunia selection in the Dekko series, with purple, lavender, or violet tones listed by Syngenta. Its official product page gives an 8–12-inch height and 18–22-inch spread, full sun, and flowering from early spring through summer. Use it to create a low, broad mass in a sunny bed or to spill over the rim of a container. University of Illinois Extension describes petunias as half-hardy annuals and notes that very heavy soils tend to suppress bloom. Containers dry more quickly than beds, so check their moisture frequently and water before the root ball dries through. Give this spreading selection adequate room and avoid crowding it with taller plants that block light. If stems become leggy late in the season, a light pinch can help keep growth compact and flowering well. Trim only as needed to remove damaged or untidy stems.
