Double Wave® Pink is the trade name recorded for the petunia cultivar Kirimaji Double Pink Vein. The Canadian variety record describes light-pink flowers and a semi-erect to semi-drooping, medium-height habit; the U.S. patent describes cascading growth and semi-double flowers with purple-red venation. [Canadian Food Inspection Agency](https://active.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/pbrpov/cropreport/pet/app00003596e.shtml) · [U.S. patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP13398P2/en)
## In the garden
Its freely branching, low, cascading form is suited to the edge of containers and baskets, where the flowering stems can spill outward. The cultivar flowers early and, in the patent’s growing observations, continued from spring until autumn frost. Sources describe the flower color as light pink to light purple with red-purple veins, so its appearance can read differently under changing light and as flowers mature.
## Growing conditions
Grow petunias in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. A container with drainage holes helps keep roots from sitting in saturated mix; avoid very heavy soil, which can reduce flowering. [Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia)
## Maintenance
Water when the surface begins to dry, checking baskets and pots frequently during warm weather. Remove faded flowers and damaged stems to keep the plant tidy. Its patent describes freely branching growth and says pinching is typically not required; trim only when needed to shape or refresh the plant. The patent also records tolerance to wind and rain.
