Create design onlineAbout Madness Double Blue - Petunia
Madness Double Blue is a blue, double-flowered hybrid petunia with compact, mounded-to-upright growth. PanAmerican's Double Madness™ Blue plant page lists a 10–15 inch height and 10–12 inch spread, with flowering in spring and summer and use in large containers, mixed combinations, and beds.
## Site and bloom
Grow in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. The [Double Madness Blue product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/048700864000616/double-petunia-double-madness-blue/) describes a floriferous display through summer; [Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia) gives May through October as the general petunia bloom season in Illinois.
## Garden use
Its compact form works in a large patio pot, a mixed planter, or a sunny bed. The double blue flowers pair naturally with white or silver foliage plants in a container, while repeated plants can provide a more continuous band of color.
## Maintenance
Pinch stems occasionally late in the season to encourage branching and continued bloom. Keep the root zone moist but well drained, and avoid heavy soils that can reduce petunia flowering. [See Illinois Extension's petunia care guidance](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia).
