About Madness® Lilac Petunia

Madness® Lilac is a grandiflora petunia with lilac-colored flowers and a compact, upright-to-mounded form. PanAmerican Seed lists a 10–15 inch height, 10–12 inch spread, 8–10 inch spacing, and flowering from spring through late summer in sun. Its larger footprint than compact bedding types suits a container or a planted group where the flowers can be seen at close range. ## Garden Use Use this selection to add a lilac accent in a sunny annual bed, patio pot, or mixed seasonal planting. The listed spacing gives each plant room to form its mound while keeping a group visually connected. Combine with foliage or flower colors that distinguish the light lilac tone. ## Growing Conditions Provide abundant light and well-drained soil. University of Minnesota Extension recommends at least five or six hours of sun for petunias and notes that containers need more frequent moisture checks than in-ground plantings. Adjust watering to weather and pot size. ## Maintenance Plant after frost danger has passed. Water when the root zone starts to dry and follow fertilizer directions for the planting medium. Remove faded flowers as needed for a neat display.
