Moonlight Eclipse® - Petunia

Moonlight Eclipse® is a Surfinia® mounding petunia with deep blue-violet flowers edged in pale green. Its compact habit and unusual two-tone flowers make it useful where the blooms can be viewed closely, including patio pots, hanging baskets, window boxes, and sunny landscape plantings. ### Size and season The Suntory catalog lists a mature height of 12–14 inches and spread of 13–15 inches, matching the existing catalog dimensions. It describes the flowers as early and the display as continuous from spring through fall. The pale green edge frames the blue-violet flower and gives this selection its distinctive appearance. [Suntory’s Moonlight Eclipse® catalog](https://www.norseco.com/pdf/2014SuntoryCatalog.pdf) gives the cultivar description and dimensions. ### Placement Use it in full sun or partial sun in well-drained growing media. Listed applications include patio containers, hanging baskets, window boxes, and landscapes. Allow room for its mounded spread. ## Maintenance Check moisture regularly in containers, which dry faster than garden beds, and water when the growing mix begins to dry. Remove damaged foliage as needed; the catalog describes the variety as self-cleaning.
