About Shock Wave® Pink Vein Spreading Petunia

Shock Wave® Pink Vein is a mounded, spreading petunia with pink flowers and a veined pattern. Its compact 7–10-inch height and broad 20–30-inch listed width suit sunny baskets, containers, and mixed plantings. ## Garden Use Use it as a spiller at the edge of a basket or planter, or let it spread across the front of a sunny bed. PanAmerican Seed lists spring through late-summer bloom and says the small flowers recover quickly after overhead watering or rain. The [exact Pink Vein page](https://www.panamseed.com/products/048605220004192/spreading-petunia-shock-wave-pink-vein/) also lists 10–15-inch spacing and notes that series spread can reach 30–36 inches, so allow room for outward growth. ## Growing Conditions Grow in full sun and fertile, freely draining soil. Water regularly during active growth, especially in containers, while allowing excess water to drain. General [RHS petunia guidance](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/166779/petunia-cascadias-yellow-eye-dancasye-cascadias-series/details) recommends full sun and well-drained soil; the [RHS container-water trial](https://www.rhs.org.uk/science/gardening-in-a-changing-world/water-use-in-gardens/watering-containers) found that overwatering can reduce plant quality. ## Maintenance Remove faded blooms as needed to maintain a tidy display and encourage continued flowering.
