About Supertunia® Picasso in Blue™ - Petunia

Supertunia® Picasso in Blue™ is the trade name for Petunia ×hybrida ‘USTUN75102’, a spreading selection with dark-violet flowers edged in green. It forms a low mound that can trail over a pot rim, adding patterned color to containers and sunny borders. ## Garden use Use it near the edge of a raised planter, window box, or hanging basket where its stems can spill over the sides. It also works in garden beds and mixed containers. The [Canadian Plant Breeders’ Rights record](https://active.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/pbrpov/cropreport/pet/app00009932e.shtml) confirms the cultivar denomination and describes the flower colors, margins, and spreading habit. ## Growing conditions Give the plant full sun for the strongest flowering; it can also grow in part shade, though it may bloom less freely. Allow 8–12 inches of height and about 24–36 inches of spread for trailing growth. Use loose, well-drained soil and water containers regularly during warm weather. [Illinois Extension’s petunia guide](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia) notes that petunias flower best in full sun and need well-drained soil. ## Maintenance The flowers are self-cleaning, so routine deadheading is unnecessary. Trim a few long shoots if the plant becomes uneven, and keep container soil from drying out during hot weather. [Parran’s Greenhouse’s cultivar page](https://www.parransgreenhouse.com/petunia-supertunia-picasso-in-blue-p/pertuniapicassoblue.htm) lists its mature garden range and self-cleaning habit.
