Sweet Sunshine Burgundy - Petunia

Sweet Sunshine Burgundy is a double-flowered petunia with deep burgundy blooms and a compact, semi-trailing habit. It belongs to Selecta’s SweetSunshine series and is the trade presentation of selection KLEPH09191, which the RHS records under that code. ## Planting Choose full sun and a free-draining potting mix. The compact, semi-trailing growth suits baskets and containers, where stems can soften the rim without taking over nearby plants. The patent describes the selected plant’s greenhouse-trial form; final spread depends on the pot and growing conditions. ## Flowers and form Selecta describes SweetSunshine as a double-flowered series. The patent record for KLEPH09191 identifies double purple-violet flowers and a compact, semi-trailing habit; Burgundy is the marketed color for this selection. Petunias generally flower from late spring into autumn, with timing shaped by local temperatures and frost. ## Maintenance Water container-grown plants regularly and let excess water drain freely. Check hanging baskets during warm, dry weather because small containers lose moisture quickly. Remove damaged stems and faded flowers when needed to keep the planting tidy.
