About Wave® Pink Spreading Petunia

Wave® Pink is a spreading petunia with bright pink flowers carried along long branches. PanAmerican lists a 5–7-inch height, 36–48-inch spread and sun exposure, making this selection useful where a low plant can cover a wide area. ## Garden use Let the stems trail over a hanging basket, window box or planter rim, or use the plant as a broad seasonal groundcover in a sunny bed. Allow about 3–4 feet of spread; its low height and wide footprint make it suitable near the edge of mixed plantings rather than behind taller plants. ## Growing conditions Provide full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Illinois Extension notes that petunias often flower poorly in very heavy soils. Containers lose moisture faster than in-ground beds, so check them regularly, water enough to reach the root zone and allow excess water to drain away. ## Flowering PanAmerican describes flowers along each branch and bloom across the main season without trimming back. The breeder says Wave Pink’s timing is similar to Purple Classic. Keep the spreading branches unobstructed so they can cover the intended space.
