About Damask™ Purple Petunia

Damask Purple is an annual Petunia multiflora color variety identified by Syngenta as product 70059273. It has a compact mounding habit and a purple flower color, bringing a concentrated patch of color to small pots, packs, and grouped seasonal displays. ## Placement and display Syngenta lists mature plants at 6–8 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide, with flowering from mid-spring through late spring and summer. Plant it in a compact container or massed with other annuals, leaving enough space for the mound to fill without being crowded. The product profile marks this variety pollinator friendly. ## Growing conditions The developer lists part shade, part sun, and full sun as suitable exposures. Use moist, well-drained soil, as recommended for petunias by Illinois Extension. Small pots dry faster than beds, so check them regularly and water when the growing mix begins to dry while allowing free drainage. ## Maintenance Occasional pinching late in the season can help maintain a compact outline and continued flowering. Remove damaged stems as needed and keep plants spaced to allow air movement around the foliage.
