Slingshot™ Heartwheel Petunia

Heartwheel is a named petunia in the SlingShot novelty collection, recognized for heart-patterned blooms. Ball FloraPlant identifies its cultivar as Balslinteel and lists patent number 7,642,436. ## Placement The product profile lists a mature height of 6–8 inches, a spread of 16–22 inches, and sun exposure. Use it in pots or baskets and leave room for the spreading canopy to fill in. The breeder reports that flowering is strongest as days lengthen in late spring and summer, making it useful for warm-season displays. ## Maintenance Plant in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Illinois Extension recommends avoiding very heavy soils and notes that occasional late-season pinching can keep petunias compact and flowering well. Shape selectively if needed, and allow the plant’s listed spread when combining it with other container plants. Keep the name tied to the Heartwheel selection; the source describes its heart pattern without specifying a flower color.
