About Double Madness™ Satin Pink Double Petunia

Double Madness Satin Pink is a compact, double-flowered petunia with pink blooms in PanAmerican Seed’s Double Madness series. The series is listed at 10–15 inches high and 10–12 inches wide, with abundant summer flowers for large containers, mixed combinations, and beds ([PanAmerican Seed catalog, p. 110](https://www.panamseed.com/documents/catalogs/13123-2014PanAmericanSeed-Catalogue.pdf)). ## Planting and placement Grow petunias in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Use this compact selection in a sunny container or bed, and allow excess water to drain away. The [University of Florida IFAS petunia guide](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/petunias/) describes the species’ range of flower forms, including doubles, and recommends full sun with moist, well-drained soil. ## Seasonal display The PanAmerican series listing describes flowers through summer. In cold-winter areas, grow petunias as seasonal annual color and protect them from frost. ## Maintenance Pinch young shoots if extra branching is wanted. Deadhead the large, double flowers to keep the plant tidy and encourage continued display. Check containers often in warm weather because their growing mix can dry faster than garden beds.
