About Ez Rider® Red Petunia

Ez Rider® Red is a compact grandiflora petunia selected for red flowers and a mounded growth habit. Its official PanAmerican Seed page gives a height of 6–10 inches, spread of 8–12 inches, spacing of 6–8 inches, and a flowering season from early spring through late summer in sun. These proportions work well for concentrated seasonal color in small beds and containers. ## Garden Use Use the red flowers as a clear accent in a sunny border or patio planter. The manageable size can help form a low, defined mass without taking over nearby plants; allow the stated spread between centers. Pair it with foliage plants or lighter-colored annuals for contrast. ## Growing Conditions Choose a bright location and soil or potting mix that drains freely. University of Minnesota Extension recommends at least five or six hours of sun for good flowering. Container plantings need closer moisture checks than beds because their limited soil volume dries more quickly. ## Maintenance Transplant after frost danger has passed. Water when the root zone begins to dry, more often in containers during hot weather, and follow the fertilizer directions for the chosen mix. Remove faded blooms when convenient to keep the planting presentable. [PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/048606512004463/petunia-ez-rider-red/) confirms the exact Red selection; [University of Minnesota Extension](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/growing-petunias) provides general care guidance.
