About Pretty Grand™ Purple Petunia

Pretty Grand™ Purple is a compact, mounded annual petunia with purple blooms. [PanAmerican Seed’s Purple product page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/048606440004341/petunia-pretty-grand-purple/) lists a height of 6–10 in., a width of 8–12 in., sun exposure, and flowering from early spring through late summer. ## Garden use The Pretty collection is described as naturally well-branched with shorter internodes, helping plants stay manageable and baskets look tidy. PanAmerican Seed notes that flowers are held above the foliage and that this can reduce Botrytis risk; its product information gives 6–8 in. spacing and lists beds, baskets, and landscape plantings as uses. ## Growing conditions The [University of Illinois Extension petunia guide](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/petunia) recommends full sun and moist, well-drained soil. It notes that very heavy soils can limit flowering, so choose a site that drains well while retaining moisture. ## Maintenance The Extension guide says occasional pinching late in the season can help petunias stay compact and bloom well. Check the plant as it grows and pinch only if stems become leggy; keep container soil from drying out completely, while allowing excess water to drain.
