Create design onlineAbout Sophistica® Lime Green Petunia
Petunia Sophistica® Lime Green is a grandiflora annual with abundant, saturated yellow flowers carrying a distinct lime undertone. Its mounded, upright habit is suited to premium pots and larger containers, and the PanAmerican Seed plant page places its flowering season from spring through summer.
## Form and placement
The flowers are solid in color rather than veined, giving the lime cast a clean, even effect. Use it as a bright focal point in a container or combine it with contrasting annuals in a large planter. The breeder page lists sun exposure and gives a 10–15 inch height and 10–12 inch width; local growing conditions and container culture can change the finished size.
## Growing conditions
Grow in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Petunias are half-hardy annuals, so set plants outdoors after frost danger has passed in the local area. In containers, check moisture regularly and keep the mix from becoming waterlogged. The [University of Illinois Extension petunia guide](https://web.extension.illinois.edu/hortanswers/PlantDetail.cfm?PlantID=761&PlantTypeID=1) recommends full sun and moist, well-drained soil.
## Maintenance
Remove faded flowers as needed to keep the display tidy; deadheading can support continued flowering in annual petunias. Avoid persistently saturated soil and remove spent blooms during routine checks.
