Snow White™ Mockorange

Snow White™ mockorange is the First Editions selection Philadelphus 'Snowwhite Fantasy'. Its upright, rounded form carries clusters of large, double white flowers with a sweet fragrance. Bloom is abundant in spring, with another flush in summer, making this shrub useful where a hedge or specimen can provide more than one season of flowers. The official [First Editions plant profile](https://firsteditionsplants.com/product/snow-white-mockorange/) lists a mature height of 5–6 feet and spread of 4–5 feet, and recommends full sun; it also describes the shrub as adaptable and fragrant. Water regularly while establishing, then adjust irrigation to rainfall and soil drainage. Allow enough room for the mature spread and avoid keeping the root zone saturated. Flowering occurs on established wood, so wait until the bloom cycle has finished before shaping; the First Editions profile recommends summer pruning after flowering. Use its stated hardiness range of USDA zones 4–8 when selecting a site, and check local exposure and winter conditions as well. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and extended dry spells. Prune after flowering in summer, removing only what is needed to maintain the shrub’s shape and space.
