Miniature Snowflake is a compact, rounded mock orange selection with gently arching branches. It produces large, fragrant, double white flowers in late spring, making the shrub especially noticeable when it blooms.
## Plant Profile
The Chicago Botanic Garden describes this selection as about three to four feet tall, with flowers in May and June. Oregon State University identifies it as a branch sport of ‘Minnesota Snowflake’ and likewise describes its compact, dense habit and fragrant double flowers. ## Growing Conditions
Choose a sunny site or partial shade with consistently moist soil and good drainage. The Chicago Botanic Garden lists hardiness zones 4–8 and suggests placing the shrub where its branches can arch naturally. ## Maintenance
Prune after flowering. If the shrub becomes very overgrown, it can be cut back to the ground, according to the Chicago Botanic Garden. [Chicago Botanic Garden](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/philadelphus-x-virginalis-miniature-snowflake-miniature-snowflake)
