Phloxstar™ White Improved Phlox drummondii

Phloxstar™ White Improved is a mounded annual Phlox drummondii selection with single white flowers. Danziger’s product page lists it as “White Imp.” in the Phloxstar™ series, with spring and summer flowering and a mature size of 12–14 inches tall by 14–16 inches wide. The selection is shown for landscape plantings, pots, and hanging baskets. North Carolina State Extension describes annual phlox as suitable for full sun to part shade and notes that it prefers sandy, well-drained soil but can grow in other well-drained soils. The species flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Water new plants while they establish and during prolonged dry spells; the species has moderate to high drought tolerance. Remove faded flowers for a tidy display, or let some set seed where annual phlox may reseed.
