Lucky Devil® Gold Ninebark

Lucky Devil® is a compact ninebark with bright yellow leaves that hold their color in full sun. White flowers appear in spring and orange foliage brings a second color change in autumn; the listed mature size is 3–4 feet tall and wide. First Editions identifies the selection as Physocarpus opulifolius ‘ZLEMichael’ PP34,243 and lists zones 3–7; [the Lucky Devil® profile](https://firsteditionsplants.com/product/lucky-devil-ninebark/) provides its dimensions, exposure, and seasonal traits. ## In the Garden Use this upright, rounded shrub as a sunny focal point, foundation accent, or informal hedge. First Editions also lists it as suitable for a container and notes deer resistance and drought tolerance. Its yellow foliage is described as retaining color in full sun, making it useful where a bright foliage accent is wanted. ## Maintenance The First Editions care guide recommends early-spring pruning and medium watering. Water new plantings while they establish, then adjust irrigation to local rainfall, soil drainage, and summer conditions.
