Crystal Peak White is a compact, upright obedient plant with dense spikes of tubular white flowers above toothed green leaves. Its small flowers can be gently repositioned along the spike and tend to stay where placed, a trait behind the common name.
## Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun or partial shade and give it fertile, moist but well-drained soil. The cultivar is described as a dwarf perennial, about 40 cm tall, with white blooms from midsummer into early autumn; published mature spread estimates vary. Use it in a sunny border or as a cut flower, allowing room for the clump to expand over time. [The Chicago Botanic Garden profile](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/physostegia-virginiana-crystal-peak-white-crystal-peak-white) notes the flower spikes and its summer bloom, while [the RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/336543/physostegia-virginiana-crystal-peak-white/details) describes its form and growing conditions.
## Maintenance
Cut old stems back to the base in winter. Divide established clumps in late winter or early spring before new growth, and remove divisions where the plant has spread beyond its space.
