Create design onlineAbout Meyer Spruce Tree
Meyer spruce is a blue-green evergreen conifer with a broadly upright, pyramidal outline and stiff needles. Mature dimensions vary among references and growing conditions, but published examples support the existing 12 m height and 5 m spread as practical estimates for an established tree.
[Arbor Day Foundation’s plant profile](https://shop.arborday.org/nursery/meyer-spruce) lists zones 3–8, full sun, and these approximate mature dimensions. The [Trees and Shrubs Online account](https://www.treesandshrubsonline.org/articles/picea/picea-meyeri/) describes the species’ Chinese mountain habitat and larger potential size; the [American Conifer Society](https://conifersociety.org/conifers/picea-meyeri/) notes blue-green foliage and upright form. Some cultivated trees have historically been confused with Picea asperata, so confirm provenance when precise identification matters. Choose a sunny site with acidic, well-drained soil and enough space for a mature conifer.
## Maintenance
Water while the root system establishes and during prolonged drought. Maintain an even mulch layer and avoid persistently saturated soil.
