Create design onlineAbout Pink Mink® Clematis
Pink Mink® is the deciduous clematis selection ‘Krakowiak’. Its bright pink flowers appear over a long summer season, and the vine can be trained across a trellis, fence, or other support. [Proven Winners ColorChoice](https://www.provenwinnerscolorchoice.com/product/pink-mink-clematis/) identifies the cultivar and gives USDA zones 4–9, a mature height of 9–10 feet, and a 6–8 foot spread. [Spring Meadow Nursery](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/pink-mink-15560) lists the same exact selection and breeder.
## Flowers and placement
The pink flowers contrast with green foliage. Pink Mink suits a mixed border, a container with a sturdy support, or a cottage garden where its flowering stems can be viewed up close. It flowers on both old and new growth, helping extend the display as the vine grows through summer.
## Growing conditions
Plant in full sun or part sun in average, well-drained soil. Keep the roots cool and moist while allowing the vine access to light. The current height of 3 m and width of 2 m are consistent with the breeder’s approximate ranges; the spread label is aligned to the published 6–8 feet.
## Maintenance
In spring, prune to about 18–24 inches as new growth begins. Provide a durable support and water during dry periods while the plant establishes.
