Pinpoint Blue & Gold False Cypress

Pinpoint® Blue & Gold false cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana ‘SMNCLGTB’) is a narrow evergreen conifer with two-toned foliage. New growth emerges lime-gold and matures toward powdery blue, giving a small-footprint vertical accent color through the year. ## Form and placement The [breeder’s exact-selection profile](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/pinpoint-blue-gold-11850) identifies ‘SMNCLGTB’, PP#30,708, and lists a mature size of 15–20 feet tall by 5–7 feet wide in USDA Zones 5–7. It describes a columnar habit and recommends full sun or part sun. The current 5-meter height and 1.5-meter width are retained as approximate metric dimensions consistent with those published ranges; display labels are normalized to the full ranges. ## Soil and water Choose well-drained soil and maintain even moisture with mulch. The breeder cautions that the plant does not tolerate drought or persistently dry soil. Its narrow habit suits a specimen, container, hedge, or mixed border. ## Maintenance Little pruning is needed to maintain the narrow form. If shaping is necessary, prune in late spring and avoid cutting into bare interior stems.
