Adapted to arid, high desert regions. New growth in spring is a phenomenal golden yellow that ages to a deep green. Red pollen cones become showy in late spring to early summer. A tidy compact form that's easy to care for. Tolerant of urban pollution and poor soils. Does not survive standing water.
