Angel Falls Eastern White Pine Tree

Angel Falls is a strongly weeping selection of eastern white pine, with very long, narrow, light-green needles and closely held branches that form a tall, narrow outline above a broad, flowing skirt. Iseli Nursery reports that the plant originated there in 1981 as a slow-growing seedling of ‘Pendula’; its garden size varies with evaluation conditions, so allow room for cascading branches. ### Form and placement Use it as a specimen where the weeping structure can be viewed from several angles, or let its skirt sweep over a low wall or open ground. The flexible branch pattern gives it a softer profile than an upright eastern white pine, while the evergreen foliage maintains structure through winter. ## Maintenance Plant in full sun and provide regular water during establishment, then adjust irrigation to rainfall and soil drainage. Avoid routine shearing, which would obscure the natural draping habit. Keep nearby paths clear of the expanding skirt and prune selectively only when a branch is damaged or obstructs access.
