Purslane (Portulaca)

Portulaca is a low-growing succulent genus known for its vibrant, rose-like flowers and fleshy, needle-like or ovate foliage. It exhibits a spreading, procumbent growth habit, making it an ideal ground cover or container plant. Thriving in full sun and well-drained, sandy soils, it is remarkably drought-tolerant. The flowers uniquely close at night and on cloudy days. It is widely used in rock gardens, borders, and hanging baskets for its continuous summer color.
