Mega Pazzaz™ Orange is Danziger’s orange-flowered *Portulaca oleracea* selection in the MEGA PAZZAZ™ series. It bears large, single blooms on a controlled semi-trailing plant; Danziger lists 14–16 inches in height and 16–18 inches in width, with early flowering and pollinator-friendly use. [Danziger product details](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/mega-pazzaz-orange/) and [Penn State Flower Trials](https://agsci.psu.edu/flower-trials/trial-year/2022/plant-name/portulaca--purslane--mega-pazzaz-orange) identify this named Orange variety. [North Carolina Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/portulaca-oleracea/) describes the species as an annual succulent that suits full sun and well-drained soil.
## Landscape Use
Use the warm orange flowers in sunny containers, hanging baskets, at the front of a border, or as a low ground-cover accent. The semi-trailing stems soften planter edges and the large blooms provide a strong color patch among more finely textured plants. Danziger positions the series for heat- and drought-tolerant programs and pollinator plantings.
## Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun and give the roots a free-draining mix. Established purslane tolerates dry conditions, but water newly planted specimens as they settle in. Avoid waterlogged soil, especially in pots. Danziger’s 14–16-inch height and 16–18-inch width are useful mature planning ranges; actual spread can vary with the site and culture.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and during prolonged dry weather, allowing the growing medium to drain between waterings. Trim stems lightly if needed to keep the plant within its allotted space.
