Mega Pazzaz™ Tropical Twist Purslane

MEGA PAZZAZ™ Tropical Twist is a named annual purslane selection (Portulaca oleracea) with large single flowers and a compact, semi-trailing habit. [Danziger’s Tropical Twist product page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/mega-pazzaz-tropical-twist/) lists it for pots, hanging baskets, ground cover, and landscape use, with a mature height of 14–16 inches and spread of 16–18 inches. Its trade name is used as supplied. ## Form and placement The low, spreading growth suits containers and baskets as well as foreground planting and ground-cover use. Its labeled height and spread preserve the breeder’s complete range rather than selecting a single point. ## Siting Give it full sun and well-drained soil. [NC State Extension’s species profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/portulaca-oleracea/) records occasional dry soil; Danziger describes this exact selection as suited to heat- and drought-tolerant programs. Its listed height and spread are compact, so use it where a low seasonal flowering layer is wanted. ## Maintenance Grow as an annual and avoid persistently wet soil. Water during establishment and extended dry spells, then let the site drain between watering. Remove spent blooms or trim lightly only as needed to keep the semi-trailing growth within its space.
