About Pazzaz™ Campino Twist Pink Purslane

Pazzaz™ Campino Twist Pink is a Portulaca oleracea selection with bright pink flowers striped in pale yellow and white. The exact selection is listed in Elsner PAC’s Portulaca assortment, and the seller’s mature-size profile gives about 24 cm tall by 35 cm wide. ## Flowers and garden use Its compact, semi-trailing growth can soften the edge of a sunny bed, rock garden, slope, or container. The flowers have a red center with golden stamens and are produced from May through September. The opened product description calls the plant an annual and recommends a hot, very sunny place in light, well-drained soil; it also notes that removing faded flowers can extend bloom and that an in-season trim encourages branching. The [PAC assortment](https://www.pac-elsner.com/us/bedding-plants.html) separately describes Campino Twist Pink as semi-trailing and mounding, with green leaves. ## Growing conditions Common purslane is a warm-season, succulent-leaved plant. [North Carolina Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/portulaca-oleracea/) recommends full sun and well-drained soil for Portulaca oleracea and notes drought tolerance once established. The species may self-seed, so remove seedheads if volunteers are unwelcome. See the [Campino Twist Pink product profile](https://www.promessedefleurs.com/annuelles/fleurs-annuelles-en-minimottes/annuelles-de-a-a-z/portulaca-campino-twist-pink.html) for this selection’s color, size and seasonal information. ## Maintenance Give newly planted purslane regular water while it establishes, especially in pots, then avoid keeping its soil continuously wet. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage continued display; trim lightly during the season if a denser, branched shape is desired.
